My life in a nut shell, and a little more
My name is Bradley Lacey and I served for 9 years in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces, to be precise the Royal Artillery. My distinguished career was tragically cut short in February 2017, when I was medically discharged. With my wife, family and close friends support, and especially my children. With their support I decided to use the skills that I had gained from my countless summers working for my Father’s construction company and the 9 years of IT & Telecom’s in the army, to retrain as an electrician. I signed up to my City & Guilds 2365 level 2 & 3 in January 2018 to put me on the right path and passed both phases with relative ease, cementing my belief that I had chosen my career change wisely. During my 9 months on the course, 2 weeks on 2 weeks off, I concentrated on what mattered the most to me. So with the determination and tenacity that the army has instilled in me over the past 9 years I decided to set up my own small business, Electrical Hero. A business that speaks for itself, my mission is to offer its customers the highest quality electrical services, focusing on a personalised service by offering convenience and a rapid, friendly service, at an affordable price.
In the not too distant future I hope to be able to employ service personnel through the WIS (Wounded, Injured and Sick) Scheme, service leavers that have a desire or interest in joining the electrical sector, and also the veterans that need the structure and career change that they might possibly need. I can also offer them support by means of guidance and mentoring from my own personal experience of the transition from Army to Civilian life, what we call in the army "Band of Brothers".
At this point my business is in it’s infancy and I recently attended a business course provided by X-forces, a military charity aiming to help and support ex serving personnel in their bid in setting up a company/business. I have to mention that all this couldn’t have been possible without the support and encouragement from Help for Heroes, without them this would still is a distance idea. So from every project I plan to donate a percentage to a worthy and close to my heart charity.
To date I've also completed my 2393 Part P compliance course, 2919-01 Electric Car charging installer, 2382-18 18th Edition wiring regulations and 2377-22 & 32 PAT tester and manager. I've also recently become a registered Nest installer, so for all you smart needs. Security to safety, by all means get in contact. Please feel free to give me a call to discuss further.
